Additional information and format

Everything listed here is subject to change if the event variables in the game are altered to the extent that they invalidate part or all of our planned events. Such things are in no way under our control.

Weekly Tournament Format

Double Elimination
We are going to be using a double elimination style format. Losing one round drops you to the elimination bracket and upon losing two rounds you are considered as failed out of the tournament for the week.

If you are coming fresh into the elimination bracket, unless there is no one else available, you will matched against another player that has made it at least one round as opposed to another player also freshly placed into the elimination bracket.
Round

Each round (excluding the finals) will consist of a best of 3 match points. (10 kills out of possible 15 needed)

Match Points - Each match point is obtained by winning 5 set points

Set Points - Obtained by killing your opponent.

Weekly Event Finals

The victor of the Elimination Bracket will be matched against the victor of the Winners Bracket. The first round will be best of 5. If the victor of the Elimination Bracket wins then a second round will be held for best of 7 and the victor will be crowned champion for the event. Should the victor from the Winners Bracket win the first set then he takes the crown and there will not be a second set.

Season Finale

At the end of the season we will hold the season finals with the top ranked players. The tournament structure will be the same as the weekly tournament with this exception.

The victor of the Elimination Bracket will be matched against the victor of the Winners Bracket. The first round will be best of 7. If the victor of the Elimination Bracket wins then a second round will be held for best of 9 and the victor will be crowned champion for the event. Should the victor from the Winners Bracket win the first set then he takes the crown and there will not be need for a second match.

A minimum attendance of three tournaments is required before you may qualify for the season finale regardless of score and/or rankings.

Example: of a round would look.
Barbarian vs Witch Doctor
All cooldowns refreshed
Both combatants enter duel zone
Combat commences
Barb kills WD, Barb is awarded 1 kill (set point)
WD respawns
WD kills Barb, WD is awarded 1 kill (set point)
Barb respawns
WD kills Barb, WD is awarded 1 kill (set point)
WD has achieved 2 kills (set points)
WD has won the first match
WD leads the round 1-0

Combatants leave the arena until all cooldowns have reset
Combatants re-enter the arena
Barb kills WD, Barb is awarded 1 kill (set point)
WD respawns
WD kills Barb, WD is awarded 1 kill (set point)
Barb respawns
Barb kills WD, Barb is awarded 1 kill (set point)
Barb has 2 kills (set points)
Barb has won the second match
Round is now tied 1-1

Break Down of Entry Fees & Prize Pool

All Leagues will have a certain gold per week entry fee, excluding the season finale where it is based off of invite only and entry fees are waived. The posted entry fee for each league may change between seasons but will never change mid-season. Entry fees for a season will be announced prior to the first event and will be locked in for all events of that league for that particular season.

70% of all collected fees will be awarded to the victors of each given night. Depending on number of combatants we will award a percentage to the top three upwards of the top ten.

20% of all collected fees will accumulate into the final pot for their respective league. At the end of a season a grand tournament will be held by invitation made only to those holding the top rankings throughout the entire season. This will be done for all leagues, and any potential future leagues. The total pot tally will be updated on the public Google Docs as each nightly event takes place.

10% is withheld by BAMF Gaming (us of course) for our work put into organizing these events.

Of the 70% allotted, nightly awards will be split as follows:
60% rank 1 (Winner)
30% rank 2 (Runner Up)
10% rank 3 (Third Place)

If our turnout exceeds 64 players every week then we will instead award the top 10 contestants using a similar ratio. All payouts will be rounded up. We will announce the pot total for each nightly event shortly after the 24 hour cutoff time for the event has been reached and the totals have been tallied.

27% rank 1 (Winner)
16.8% rank 2 (Runner Up)
12.01% rank 3
8.80% rank 4
6.56% rank 5
4.98% rank 6
3.84% rank 7
3.01% rank 8
2.40% rank 9
1.94% rank 10

Payouts will only be made to the winners, and will be paid at the end of every tournament.

All leagues will be tracked on Google Docs and posted publicly. All gold will be tracked and all payouts shown.
League Signup

Currently we are considering z33k.com as the tracking system for our rankings. We will post and update if this changes or when it becomes final.

A sign up form will be posted one week prior to the event under the forum of every respective league. The forums can be found at the sites linked below. One of our staff will add you to their battle.net “friends” list and schedule a time to collect your admission fee officially completing your registration for the event.

You must sign up at least 24 hours prior to the given event in which you wish to participate. Example: If you wish to take part in a league on Feb 19th at 7pm PST then sign up cuts off at Feb 18th 7pm sharp.

Should you submit the registration form before the 24 hour cut-off time but we are unable to collect your payment before the cutoff time is reached due to our unavailability you will not be disqualified so long as you are able to submit your entry fee at the time of the event start.

Each league will be independent of the others. Upon signup and payment you will be entered for the week. In the event that we use z33k you will be required to sign up on both z33k and our forums to keep battletags organized. Registration will be considered incomplete if you complete all other steps but do not register a z33k account and you will not be permitted to participate in the tournament

We have a manual tracking process that can be used temporarily in the event that our primary tracking system goes offline during a tournament for any reason.
